Hey everyone, it's Martijn from the Snap Finger Click team!
Apparently there's no cut off date for when you should officially stop wishing people a Happy New Year, so "Happy New Year!". I hope everyone had a good break? Everyone who was eligible should have now received their download code for the PC version of the Awkward video game, as well as their mini game PDF. If you've played the mini game PDF over the holiday break then we'd love to hear about this!
Over the break Flo (SFC's Assistant Producer) has been busy making preparations for the video trailer of the game. All our focus is on our Kickstarter backers, and getting the game through Kickstarter is definitely the fastest (and cheapest) way to get hold of the game. However, at some point in the future we want to get the game into shops, sell it through our website, etc, and as part of those preparations we really need a video trailer. Flo organised a playthrough of the game with our prototype cards, it was hilarious to play, and some great footage has been captured. You can get a sneak preview here:
In the last update I spoke about how we were busy working with our manufacturing partner on getting all the print proofs ready. This has now been done, and work has started on creating the first sample version of the main game, as well as the two expansion packs. This sample version is essentially the same as the real version of the game that will end up in your hands at some point. Creating the sample version is expected to be completed on the 14th (this Friday), after which it will be sent by courier to us from China. We're expecting it to arrive here around the 20th, so not too long from now 😊.
The purpose of the sample version is for us to give feedback on it to the manufacturer, just in case something isn't entirely right. It seems sensible to do this before mass manufacturing begins for all our backers, and is the normal process that our manufacturing partner has.
Once we're received the sample version we'll make sure to show you what it looks like, hopefully that will all be in the next Backer update 🙂.
